The ensemble was founded in 1959 in Nis as the Ensemble of Folk Songs and Dances "Oro", while since 1992 it has been working under the auspices of the Student Cultural Center Nis, changing its name to the Academic Folklore Ensemble "Oro". During its 60 years of existence, the Ensemble has achieved exceptional achievements and contributed to the affirmation of the creative potential of students at the University of Nis.
