KUD LEMIND Leskovac was founded on October 10, 1979, with the aim of nurturing and choreographing folk dances and songs with professional work. The goal of the Society is to process and choreographically adapt the folk dance and song found on the field to the performance on the stage. The mission of the Society is to give an adequate answer to the young generations to the question of studying folk tradition through dance, music and singing. The vision of the Society is the presentation of Serbian folk dances and songs through concerts in the country and abroad. With this approach, in the past 41 years we have managed to create 25 choreographies called Games and Songs of the People of Serbia, and over 6,000 players, 200 musicians and 150 vocal soloists have given 2,150 concerts in Serbia, Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, Greece, Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia. Today, KUD LEMIND has about 100 members through ensembles of folk dances and songs, and the school of folklore is very active, with about 50 students. She has won numerous awards and recognitions, and her favorite is the applause of millions of folklore lovers.
