Representative dance ensemble “Mladost” at the Municipal Youth Center – Montana was established in 1976. The main artistic director and choreographer of the ensemble is Stoyan Stoyanov. The mission of its graduates is to preserve the folk traditions in the art of dance. An assistant in this endeavor is the young choreographer in the ensemble Nikolay Spasov, who is a graduate of the Dance Ensemble “Mladost”. For 45 years the dancers have been doing it successfully not only on the stages in Bulgaria, but also in almost all of Europe and distant America. In its long history, the ensemble has performed over 1,500 concerts, won awards and gold medals at various national and international folklore festivals and forums. More than 1,000 dancers passed through the rehearsal hall. Enthusiasts aged 5 to 65 are currently rehearsing at the Mladost Dance Ensemble. Folk dances are their vocation. The ensemble has hosted famous choreographers with their works, there are dances from different folklore ethnographic regions of Bulgaria – Shopska, Thracian, Northern, Dobrudzha and others. Dances with thematic and plot orientation are performed, stage dances are developed, as well as authentic people are studied. The repertoire of the folklore formation is extremely diverse. In the ensemble “Mladost” the dancers make the connection with the deep roots and the spiritual content of the folk dance. This type of message is a good option to attract more and more people to dance folklore, to get acquainted with its cultural and historical development.
